Property description

The owners have lived in Portugal since the mid-1980s and have spent many years developing and restoring the property.

Casa da Ameixeira – 1 mezzanine room, 1 living room, 1 kitchen, 1 bathroom (sleeps 2-3).

The property has its own water supply, including water purification and solar heating systems with storage capacity of over 15,000 liters. The water is purified and can be consumed straight from the tap.
The property has a water cistern for irrigation that is also an above-ground natural (untreated) swimming pool. Guests can use the shared swimming pool, the shared garden, and the bread oven.

The houses are energy self-sufficient, thanks to a photovoltaic power generation facility that produces about 50 KWh of electricity per year.
The property has covered parking spaces for 13 cars, gardens and terraces, an orchard with some 60 citrus and other fruit trees, and land with about 200 almond, fig and olive trees.

Note: it's important to come by car to move around easily.

Area description

Monte da Charneca is a historic Portuguese hamlet set in beautiful, peaceful countryside that has been tastefully restored. It comprises a series of country cottages of various sizes in a traditional village pattern.
The location is ideal for exploring the Western Algarve and is close to many services and attractions. The property is located:
• 1½ km from the authentic village of Barão de São João, one of the best-preserved villages in the region;
• 6 km from the coast at Praia da Luz;
• A 10-minute drive to the historic town of Lagos;
• Near to dozens of beaches to the south (Meia Praia, Pinhão, Dona Ana, Camilo, Porto de Môs, Burgau, Cabanas Velhas, Boca do Rio, Salema, Figueira) and within a 30 minute drive of the Atlantic beaches to the west (Castelejo, Cordoama, Murração, Bordeira, Arrifana).
